One student reportedly burnt beyond recognition in dormitory fire incident at Thome Boys secondary school in Tigithi, Laikipia East

Authorities said the latest is the third school fire in the area coming only two weeks.

The cause of yesterday's inferno is still unknown as parents, teachers and students count losses.

Police in Nanyuki have launched Investigations to establish the root cause of the deadly fire.

Several properties of the students including stationery and personal items worth thousands of shillings went up in flames.

Nanyuki fire and rescue team responded to the distress call following fire outbreak at the learning institution at around 1:54am.

Police said before the fire department could intervene the fire had already engulfed a partition of 1st floor domitory.

Efforts from the neighbouring community, school staffs and teachers to put out the raging fire yields some fruits.

The media and the family of Thome Boys secondary school fraternity are now asking God to give the affected family comfort to bear the loss of their departed son.
