Speaking at a recent event in the County, the youthful CEC narrated how she got a TCS job barely an year after graduating from university, and an year later she landed a job as a CEC with County government of Tharaka Nithi.

Maureen told youths attending the event that before the year ends she will be graduating with her master's degree and after which she will enroll for a PHD that will earn her the title 'Dr. Maureen' in just five years.

She thus challenged her age mates to soul search amongst themselves on where they would be when she would be graduating with a doctorate degree in 5 years time.

"I am the youngest CEC in the Country. At a age of 25 years,I will be graduating with a masters degree before this year ends and then enroll for a PHD that will make me a doctor in 5 years time. Who will you have become when I will be earning the title 'doctor'?" She posed to the youths.

To drive in her challenge perfectly, she asked youths born between 1997-2000 to raise their hands, telling them that despite being their age mate she had been able to make great achievements that makes her a beacon of hope to them that anything is achievable.

However, she noted that not everyone maybe gifted education wise and thus she asked youths to capitalize on areas they are talented in.
