President Uhuru Kenyatta has send good news to kenyans during today's labour day celebrations at State house in Nairobi county where he has issued a new executive order on the current curfew that has been in place for the past several weeks.
In an address that has been fully followed by this writer, the head of state has announced the lifting of the curfew that had been in place in the counties if Nairobi, Kiambu, Nakuru and Kajiado with immediate effect.
The head of state did not stop there, he issued a communication on the reopening of schools and other learning institutions after directing that the school calendar which had been formulated late last year be implemented as it is. This means that schools will reopen on 10th May as earlier indicated by professor George Magoha.
He said that the current curfew containment measures plus other mechanisms have played a huge role as the positivity rate has gone down. However, he called for personal responsibility saying that he will no option but to deescalate the measures.
