The Kenya National Examination Council holds exams for every year, class eight candidates began their KCPE exams on Mondsy with Maths, English and English composition, on Tuesday they did science, Kiswahili and Kiswahili Insha and they finished the exams yesterday with social studies and religious education.
One girl from Nyahururu Townview Academy has sustained burns from a fire they had set up to celebrate the completion of their Kenya Certificate of Primary Education.
The school headteacher had allowed her students to celebrate the important achievement of finishing their exams, the fire was set up today earlier in the morning and each student had an opportunity to burn books while sitting around a table near the fire watching as they turned into flames.
The student who has sustained burns has explained that she was sitting near the fire when someone passed and accidentally pushed her into the fire. She has left with face and hand burns and her parents have taken her to the hospital.
