2. University of Nairobi
This is among the oldest universities in East Africa. It started as a college before being elevated. It is established within the Nairobi city central business district. It has a good number of branches country wide.

3. United States International University of Africa
USIU is a top private university in Kenya. It has been in existence for about 50 years. It is widely known because of producing a top notch education.

4. Kenyatta University
It is the third oldest public university in Kenya after UoN and Egerton. It is located in Juja, Kiambu county.

5. Egerton University
This is one of the oldest colleges in Kenya. It was established in the 1950s as the Farm school before getting elevated to the university status in the 1984.
