The students are at home after term one studies ending amid school fires at different schools.Schools such as Sigalame boys have suffered repeatedly within one term after fires breaking out due to differences between workers and administration,something that could be amicably solved.
Yesterday,schools closed.As usual,when schools close,the parents who do not go for their children in schools do wait for them at home with a hope of the children reaching home on time.However,this has at home seen some of the students miss or engage in activities that are detrimental to their lives.
Teachers and parents whose students and children at least use Embu bus station have got some surprise after revelations by K24.A traveller,Simon Muturi who was to travel to Nairobi has revealed how he spotted several students lining up for alcohol drinks which they stuffed in their bags.Unfortunately,these students walked into the bar in a broad daylight and were just given these drugs without any worry.
Some drivers have complained that this is well known and alarm has been raised but the government has refused to act.This is worrying news to the parents,the teachers and even the ministry of education that has already banned kiosks around schools.
