The country was brought to lockdown on 26th march that saw suspension of all physical learning activities in all learning institutions countrywide. This saw learners stay at home for another period until the schools were to reopen again.
On 1st May, after the presidential address on the nation, there was a relief for students once more that saw the removal of lockdowns and the reopening of schools for physical learning. Schools were set to reopen on May 10th as earlier said by Cs George Magoha and that there will be no need to revise the calendar again.
Universities are an organization that govern themselves and thus they have the authority to decide on the dates to reopen for physical learning unlike the highschools and primary schools.
Learners will be required to wait for the official memo from their respective universities to inform them of their reporting dates. Most universities had opted for online learning to save the semester for students and help them finish on their courses.
This either did not seem easy as most students lacked proper internet connection thus making learning difficult for most of the students.
Online learning was started as a way to minimize on physical contact among learners to curb the spread of corona virus.
All learners are urged to wait patiently for official memo to be released from their respective universities so that physical learning can resume immediately.
We all hope that schools will reopen as from next week as earlier stated.
