The government of Kenya started a new curriculum a few years ago. The Competency-Based Curriculum(CBC) is meant to help learners to identify their talents early as compared to the 8.4.4 system whereby learners think of white-collar jobs after their studies.
One clear thing is that this curriculum is involving a lot and therefore it requires more teachers in Primary schools. The Teachers Service Commission(TSC) in liaison with the government should therefore employ those trained teachers who don't have jobs.
This will reduce the workload for the current tutors who are struggling to make it succeed. If this will not be done then it might take long for this CBC to be implemented fully. At the same time, parents and other stakeholders should support it because it has more advantages for our children.
It is just an opinion. What do you think about this matter? Drop your comments down here.
