Teachers service commission is a constitutional commission (TSC) mandated to manage human resources in education sector in the country. The commission employ, promote, transfer and retain teachers in all public schools. TSC also registers and discipline teachers who go against it's prescribed code of conduct.
TSC Chief Executive Officer Dr Nancy Njeri Macharia has today send a message of good will to all teachers as workers celebrate labour day. Dr Nancy Macharia thanked teachers for their efforts in provision of quality education in the country despite Covid-19 pandemic.
"On behalf of Teachers Service Commission, I wish all teachers and secretariat staff a happy Labour Day. Though this year's celebration comes amidst the Covid-19 pandemic, we honour you for your efforts in provision of quality education to the Kenyan child," said Dr Nancy Macharia.
On just concluded KCPE and KCSE examinations, TSC boss appreciated teachers efforts in administering national examination in extraordinary circumstances. "We sincerely appreciate your efforts in implementing all education programs including administering KCPE and KCSE under extraordinary circumstances brought by the corona virus. Ahsanteni Sana," added Dr Nancy Macharia.
Teachers are also encouraged to take Covid-19 vaccine and observe Covid-19 protocols ahead of school re-opening on Monday May 10th 2021.
