Relief to teachers, parents and children

The government now is determined to enhance school feeding programs to ensure all students are in school. This is a relieve to parents as they had been planning on how they are going to start this first term in this year. Parents had been experiencing difficulties as COVID-19 had disrupted everything and also as famine had risen up and were left worrying about feeding programs for their children in schools. The government has done this to ensure 100 percent of students report back to schools.

The CS also assured teachers that this government will take there problems seriously and they will be solved. At least 14,000 teachers will begin the new term in new schools after their employer, the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) approved their applications or regional and inter-regional transfers that have been authorized by the body's boss, Nancy Macharia.

Statistics shows that the larger rift valley region leads with 3982 transfers followed by Eastern with 3578 and then western with 2003. Already at Friends School Kamusinga in Bungoma county, the current principal has handed over to the other. The affected teachers are required to report to the new workstations immediately to facilitate handing over from next week Ahead of school reopening
