Kenyan Teachers Demands Few Days To Release Of 2022 KCSE Results

Following the incident that happened at St. Francis Mang'u Girls few days ago, Kenyan teachers through the Kenya Union of Post-Primary Education Teachers (KUPPET) Secretary General Mr. Akello Misori has issued new demands that will help in solving cases of haltering marking of national exams by examiners.

The KUPPET Secretary General Akello Misori during an interview with Ramogi TV said that Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) is still using a model that was devised in 1987 in marking national examinations.

Akello Misori said that the marking conditions does not favor teachers. The examiners are paid meager amount of money. He also stated that teachers pass through alot of issues during marking sessions. "Marking session is a matter of life and death, teachers get paid KSh 150 when they leave the marking center. An amount that cannot buy even a coke." Akello Misori stated.

KUPPET Secretary General Akello Misori said that the working condition and remuneration of teachers must be improved before the next marking of any national exams. Misori also added that teachers who were teargased after the CRE examiners downed their tools at St. Francis Mang'u Girls on 10th January 2023 needs to be compensated.

The new demands comes only few days after the CS for Education Ezekiel Machogu had set to announce the 2022 KCSE results before schools reopen on 23rd January 2023.
