Kenya is one of the leading East African Community (EAC) states that enjoys good education system and has a good number of universities that are known globally. The universities include; Kenyatta, University of Nairobi, Egerton, Moi,Maseno and Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MMUST).

It's bad news to University of Nairobi (UoN) and Kenyatta University as the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) has gone ahead to freeze all accounts belonging to the two institutions of learning over unpaid revenue debts.

University of Nairobi has lost over 450 million shillings in the above reported incident. Prof. John Kiama the Vice Chancellor of Nairobi university and his Kenyatta university counterpart Prof. Paul Wainaina have confirmed that the institutions had millions of debts to settle with the KRA.

In conclusion, the government through the ministry of education that is under the leadership of Prof. George Magoha, should swing into action as soon as possible to salvage the situation in the two universities before the students resume their learning process.
