Inside Kenya's Most Expensive School.

The International School Of Kenya (ISK), located in the outskirts of Nairobi, approximately 8miles from the city center, is ranked the most expensive school in Kenya, and this is why.

Its annual tuition fees range from Ksh 1.6M to 3.2M, depending on the year of study.

Other fees that parents have to pay include an application fee of Ksh 40,000, bus fee of Ksh220,000, a one time capital levy fee of Ksh 1M and an annual capital levy fee of Ksh 135,000.

This totals to Ksh 3M– 5M per year. Clearly this school is not for the common mwananchi.

The ISK was started in the year 1976 through a collaboration between the US and Canadian governments

The school sits on a 50 acre piece of a former coffee plantation.

The ISK is a private day school that offers an educational program from prekindergarten to Grade 12. It also offers the International Baccalaureate (IB) diploma program.

It has a population of close to 1000 students from 67 countries.

Upon graduation, the graduate earns an ISK North American accredited diploma. 70% of the graduates also earn an IB diploma. With these diplomas, they get to study in the most respect Ivy league universities and colleges.

Some of the unique facilities you will find at ISK include; an arts center, an amphitheater, gymnasium, closed basketball court with changing rooms and offices, a 547 seat theater and a solar heated swimming pool.
