The top Nakuru KCPE student, Christine Wambui Irungu, 14 years, from Nakuru County attained 403 marks, and received an admission letter dated April 23, 2022 to join Alliance Girls.

It unfortunate that her parents are unable to afford the required Tution amount. According to reports, she worked very hard to meet her best mean score so as to join her dream school, “Alliance girls”.

Mr. Stanley Irungu, Christine’s father, said that he is unable to raise his daughter’s fees as he can only afford to provide his family’s basic needs from the one acre farm he owns. He further said that he has no any other source of income yet he struggles paying his other two daughters fees in the University.

According to the admission letter, the first term total fees is Ksh. 42,000 where the overhead costs fee is Ksh.20,000 and the term fee being Ksh. 22,000. “This will not let my dream fade away for i will do basic manual work at home, which is growing vegetables and selling them to the nearby Kabozi shopping centre in order to help my parents raise thd required amount”. Said Christine.

Many girls from poor backgrounds have a dream of joining Alliance Girls as the school is known for its superior performance in the KCSE and has produced top-notious women leaders since its first openining, 1948. Just like Wambui, they end up loosing their place due to lack of school fees.

The parents are appealing help from well wishers so as to achieve their daughter’s dream come true.
