Just a few days before sitting for their final examinations, two form four students on Saturday reportedly passed on after drowning in a waterfall in Kirinyaga County.
Breaking the sad news, the "Watoto Wasome" Advocate Ndungu Nyoro has reported that two forms four students from Mugoiri Girls in Murang'a County drowned in a waterfall in Kirinyaga on Saturday when they had gone for a school trip. The two students are said to be among the 380 KCSE students who had camped at a lodge in Kirinyaga to refresh their minds ahead of sitting for their final examinations beginning end of this month.
According to the source, one Student drowned in the heavy waterfall under unclear circumstances and the second one drowned while trying to save the first one. After the tragic demise of the two while on their last trip as High School students, the sad news was broken down to the school's parental group.
The last-minute drowning sadly comes after another student from Nyahururu Elite Secondary School passed on after hiking at Mt. Longonot in Nakuru. The student was reported to have gone missing after camping for a hike and died upon arrival at the hospital hour's after he was found.
