Three Rift Valley Institute of Science and Technology (RVIST) students died in a 5 am road accident at Ngata bridge along Nakuru-Eldoret Highway.
The three were passengers in a 14-seater Matatu that was traveling from Nakuru city to Rongai Constituency.
The accident happened after a speeding lorry heading to Nakuru rammed the matatu, killing the three on the spot.
The victims were among a group of 20 students returning from a school event. The overnight intercampus modelling event took place in Paprigano in Milimani, Nakuru city.
A report from the institution indicate that Andrew Oyaro (Mr RVIST) had been invited to the event and the others had accompanied him to cheer him up.

The other two students who perished were; Kelvin Kariuki and Nickson Ameja.
RVIST students have asked the government to partition the Sobea-Ngata road so as to avert more accidents.
