Kennedy Mugambi, a KCPE 2022 candidate was impressed after scoring 400 marks despite being absent from school for two terms.
Kennedy had just proceeded to class 8 last year but was bed ridden thus prompting his parents and teachers to write to KNEC to cancel his candidature.
He had a health issue which made him always vomit blood.
After recovering, he resumed school this year and worked hard like he never left.
Kennedy revealed that the marks came as a surprise and he expected about 390 marks. He credited his success to hard work and determination He aspires to be a civil engineer in future.
Kathigiri primary school where Kennedy schooled had 37 out of 108 candidates score 400 marks and above. The school heateacher said that team work is their secret to success.
This year, there was notable good performance in many public schools despite the infrastructure not being as good as in private schools.
Candidates will be placed in secondary schools on 16th January. We wish them all the best.
