TSC Announces The Number Of Teachers To Be Employed by January 2023

Amid the high rate of unemployment in Kenya, the teachers have a reason to smile again after Teachers Service Commission (TSC) boss, Nancy Macharia, released the good news some minutes ago.

TSC will hire 30,000 teachers during the next academic year of 2023-2024. The recruitment will cut across teachers for both Primary and secondary levels.

Due to the introduction of the CBC system of education, more classes were created thereby creating more need to hire more teachers. According to the report which was released a while ago, grades six and seven will be retained at the primary level.

The fate of our children's future has been the topic of discussion since the previous administration which oversaw its implementation through Prof. George Magoha's stewardship as the Cabinet Secretary of Education.

However, the new administration has taken it to a different level by involving the public to give their views concerning how the program should be operated.

Through a task force team that was appointed by President William Ruto to research the fate of CBC, the report was tabled before he guided the current administration to maintain grade 6 and 7 pupils to be retained in the primary level.

Moreover, the report advised the government to hire more teachers since CBC involves a lot of work that can not be handled by the at which teachers were employed during the previous administration.
