Bad News to Teachers Who "Dont't want CBC" As TSC Unveiled New Plan to all Teachers On CBC.

According to the report that was presented to the head of state by the Presidential Working Party on Education Reform tasked with reviewing the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC), it is now very clear that grade six learners will not transition to Junior Secondary Schools (JSS) come next year but they will be domiciled in the existing primary schools.

This will means that the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) will have to train more teachers to handle grade seven learners who will be domiciled in the existing primary schools. As per the tsc CEO, Dr. Nancy Macharia, "the commission would use funds provided to it by the previous administration to facilitate the mandatory training exercise." They are already teachers but need to be inducted into what is expected of them,” she added.

According to Dr. Nancy Macharia, the training will be done in phases since the time before the next term set to begin in January 2023 is limited. "We can use these funds to train the teachers on working with Grade Seven learners. Of course, some have gone through training therefore, retraining will be enough,” she announced. This means that all teachers will have to go through this mandatory training on CBC.
