Knut Sides With The Teachers by Opposing TSC's Move to Train Teachers on The New System on Weekends

There have been sharp differences between the teachers union Knut and the teachers employer. The disagreements have been there for a while now.TSC and Knut started disagreeing after TSC came up with the new scheme of service under the CPG that Knut strongly opposed.Fortunately, the union did not oppose everything that TSC wanted to implement. There are some areas that the union wanted TSC to rectify. For instance, the areas to do with Tpads.Knut was not impressed with the fact that TSC empowered the learners to mark the teachers' class attendance register on daily basis. The other one was the appraisal reports that Knut felt had made teachers to be like clerical officers.

Knut has been trying to restore back its lost glory.SG Wilson Sossion has vowed to fight for the teachers upto the end.Sossion's efforts to get TSC be responsible for the agonies that it has caused the union have not bore any fruit. The union has been conducting its grassroot elections. The elections have been smoothly conducted since some officials have been elected unopposed.

TSC has also been training the teachers on Tpad issues. The trainings started on 25th and ended o Saturday 27th February. The teachers who worship on Saturdays who are majorly from Seventh Day Adventist Churches have silently felt aggrieved.During the CBC trainings in the last week to opening of schools, the teachers were also trained on a weekend.Knut has now objected the trainings for teachers on weekends. This is because they do conduct their elections on weekends hence the Tpad weekend trainings have interfered with their grassroot elections.
