Teacher Who Authored Defamatory Content on Facebook About TSC's Nancy Macharia Stunned As DCI Acts

DCI sleuths have arrested a primary school teacher who authored defamatory content about the Teachers Service Commission Chief Executive Officer Nancy Macharia using a fake Teachers Service Commission Facebook Account.

Jeremiah Mwavunganaga, a teacher at Musiini Primary School in Makueni county posted information on his fake TSC account alleging that Nancy Macharia had been killed by her lover.

According to communication from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations through social media handles, Jeremiah's pursuit and subsequent arrest was as a result of an intensive forensic analysis by DCI crime research unit based in Makueni.

Jeremiah was found in possession of the mobile phone bearing the fake TSC account at Makutano shopping centre in Nzaui. He didn't object arrest, he will be soon arraigned and charged with defamation among other charges on Monday.

Following the arrest, DCI has sounded a warning to Kenyans who use social media against authoring any misleading information aimed at humiliating, defrauding and backmailing anyone.
