The move by the Presidential working party on Compitency based curriculum to domicile junior secondary schools in primary schools has been received with mixed reactions.
Speaking on Sunday in Mombasa where they are attending this year's meeting organized by the Kenya primary schools Heads association, the heads said they are ready to host the junior secondary schools.
They said the decision is going to save the government the agony of hundred percent transition.
According to the heads, the empty classrooms where standard seven used to be can easily be used by the grade sevens Next Year.
The heads are now going to be very powerful going forward given that there are no plans of making Junior Secondary school independent with a separate head.
The heads will now be incharge of nine classes, one more while their secondary school counterparts will lose one class in the 2-6-3-3 suggested system.
More classes means more pupils, more teachers and financial allocation by the government through free education programs.
