Teaching is one of the careers that is regarded as the last option in the list of careers for high school students. It is a course worth pursuing, especially considering that one can hardly go without a job. The private sector and the Boards of management are always looking for instructors to supplement the ones available. This is in a bid to meet the teacher-student ratio of 1:20.
Students with the following qualifications can consider pursuing education at degree or diploma level to teach in secondary schools.
*Mean grade of C+
*they must have attained C+ in two teaching subjects of their choice.
*For education,arts, mathematics D+ , education sciences, mathematics C plain.
*Must have attained C in English.
With the KCSE 2020 results recently announced, students can consider this information as they await KUCCPS revision.
Those who did not make a C + can still pursue education at diploma level for primary school. It is worth noting that the P1 courses are being phased out by the government. Aspirants for primary school teacher must meet the following requirements:
*C in Mathematics
*C in English
*C in Kiswahili
*C in any humanity subject.
* C in any science subject.
Mean score C plain.
