The Teachers Service Commission Moves To Effect The Following Changes In The Management Of Schools

The Teachers Service Commission has indicated that it will effect transfers for deputies in learning institutions to adequately realise gender balance in the management of schools. With s hools having closed after a successful second term for other learners, candidates are in school preparing for national examinations. Class eight pupils have done rehearsals today in readiness for Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education examinations scheduled to start on Monday and end on Wednesday. Their counterparts in form four are combing through books in preparation for Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education exams that will begin soon after KCPE. The candidates have remained with headteachers and their deputies to manage candidates during the examination period.

The Commission has plans to effect transfers for deputy headteachers and deputy principals where both administrators are of the same gender. This comes after TSC had dismissed claims of massive transfer of teachers next month as had earlier been reported in the daily nation. TSC reported that it intended to replace the teachers who had exited the service due to natural attrition. It is now clear that some teachers will be transferred as a way of balancing the management of the mixed schools.
