Schools have reopened today across the country for the second in a crush program since the outbreak of covid-19 affected the education calendar.
According to the ministry calendar,the second term will run for 11 weeks upto 23rd December when the learners will be breaking for a short Christmas holiday for only one week.
The learners will not break for the halfterm in this term. Teachers and students will have to prepare both mentally and psychologically to ensure the schools programs are not affected in either way.
The third will begin on 2nd January of 2022. The learners will study for 10 weeks. Form four and class eight candidates will have their National exams which will be marked in April holiday.
The ministry is in plans to have the normal education calendar to resume by the end of the year 2022.
The education Cabinet secretary Prof.Geroge Magoha gave a stun warning to various heads of schools against hiking fees .He encouraged principals and heads to negotiate with parents on fee payment instead of sending students away.
