Education can be defined as the total process of developing human abilities and behaviour hence that is why the government of Kenya is making it mandatory for every Kenyan child to go to school, the government spends billions of money on education, making it the sector with the largest budget share yearly.
The education sector in Kenya was affected last year on March as Covid-19 disease gained entry into Kenya, the outbreak forced the president to order for immediate closure of all learning institutions to safeguard the lives all the parties involved in education, the schools closed for ten months until this year on January thus alot of time was lost during the closure.
A new school calender was made by the ministry of education that strives to see that the time lost during the closure is achieved, the new calender has learning, halfterm, holliday and national examination dates. Currently both primary and secondary school learners have started their 2021 first holliday that is set to elapse on 10.10.2021.
The new school calender will still be in use after this holliday therefore the 2021 second term activities will resume on 11.10.2021, this term is short hence there is no halftern but the schools will break for Christmas on 24th December 2021 for one week until 2nd January 2021.
