The much awaited national exams are set to end after a few days. These exams had been postponed from the normal months of October and November to this year from March to April. This had been so due to the Covid 19 Pandemic that had paralysed education in the whole country from March last year.
During the administration of the national exams, the teachers have been urged to observe highest integrity throughout the exam period.TSC has constantly reminded the teachers about this. This has been so after some teachers being found guilty of aiding cheatings in Migori county.Besides that,a teacher believed to be part of cartels responsible for the suspected cheatings in some Nyanza counties was arrested in Homabay county.
Last week also saw one principal being arrested after suspected WhatsApp leakage.Luckily,Education CS professor Magoha said that the exams were fake.As these principals who are also the centre managers continue to discharge their duties, the government has now been impressed by their work. While in Bondo today, Education PS Dr Julius Jwan praised all the centre managers for their probity in which they have handled the KCSE exams upto now. This praise comes at a time when Kuppet is pushing the government to increase the amounts paid to the exam administrators.
