TSC Kenya Has Hired 14,460 More Teachers- Dr Macharia Announces

The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has hired 14,460 new teachers to address shortage and replace retired employees.

TSC Chief Executive Officer said all the new teachers were recruited in September 2022.

In her address at the Kenya School of Government in Nairobi on Wednesday, October 5 during the World Teachers’ Day Celebrations, Dr Macharia said: “I celebrate the teachers for continuing to shoulder a bigger burden arising from the increased enrolment occasioned by the noble 100 per cent transition programme in our schools.

The TSC has posted 14,460 new educators who were selected last month (September 2022) emerging from the new enlistment, and substitution of instructors who left help through normal wearing down."

Macharia said the ordinary three-term schools' scholastic schedule will continue in January 2023 following two years of packed examinations to compensate for time lost following the episode of Coronavirus in Walk 2020.

During the Educators' Day festivities, 246 educators were perceived for their presentation in educating and powerful conveyance of the educational plan. 51 (51) of these instructors were granted.

"We are likewise respecting 51 educators who have prevailed upon public distinctions the most recent two years, 21 of whom were granted in 2022. Just like our practice, the most common way of recognizing the educators to be compensated today has been finished in adherence with the TSC Execution Acknowledgment, Award and Assent Strategy Structure," said Dr Macharia.
