Good News To Parents as Government Moves to Avert Looming Crisis in Schools Ahead of Reopening

There was a widely publicized tension among parents after school heads sent newsletters to them demanding students to report with school fees for the second term. However, the government through the Ministry of Education has announced plans to manage the looming crisis.

Appearing before the members of Parliament on Thursday, October 7, Education Cabinet Secretary Prof. George Magoha has assured school heads that there will be no cash crunch, when learners resume classes next week on Tuesday, October 12.

“Let me assure you that the Ksh17 billion required will be available before then. No child should be charged an extra levy and no child should be sent home. If you have such cases, bring them to our attention. I'm sure the Teachers Service Commission will take action,” Magoha remarked.

He however asked parents who can pay their kid's school fees to do so in good time to finance their institutions' projects.
