Magoha to Examination Candidates: "Face Masks Are For Preventing Corona Not For Exam Cheating"

The CS for Education Prof George Magoha has issued a strong warning to both this year’s examination candidates and exam fraudsters to refrain from attempting any form of exam cheating. This he said while receiving a 40 accre piece of land donated in Chista Kamasta village in Waa by the County government and which will be used to put a blue economy centre for Eastern Africa worth around Ksh. 1.2B.

The long awaited time by the 2020 examination candidates is finally approaching after the ordeal that was brought about by the Covid-19 pandemic. As usual, over the years, there have been reports of exam frauds in various parts of the country.

Just as the saying “ Survival for the fittest,” many candidates and fraudsters have devised tactics on how to jump through the high examination ladder as a few of those found would narrate how they may have been escaping the wrath of being found by an examiner.

Today, while receiving a 40 accres donation in Kwale County for putting up blue Economy centre for East Africa, the Cabinet Secretary for Education, prof. George Magoha warned all examination candidates on cheating through their Face masks.

According to the CS, some people are deceiving students to write possible exam answers on their face masks and therefore directed all centre examination managers to inspect smevery student’s masks before entering an examination room.

“There are some people cheating the students to write everything inside the masks. I’m going to ask all centre managers that all students must remove their masks before entering exam rooms.” Said the CS.

Magoha while making his remarks, made it clear that he knows the headquarters of cheating and while mentioning Isebania, Kisii and Migori, he affirmed that his ministry was on high alert.

“In terms of cheating, we know, and I want to repeat…the headquarters of cheating (are) Isebania, Migori and Kisii…I am telling you, you are planning to do certain things, and we’re watching you. Try and you will see,” added Magoha.

If you’re a candidate or a parent please be aware that that you don’t find yourself at the wrong site as Magoha has made it clear that the Mask is for preventing Covid-19 and not a tool of cheating.

“So let no student waste his/her time writing things inside the mask, they’re supposed to prevent you from corona. If we catch you, we’re not going to be very merciful with you.” Warned Magoha.
