Teacher's Service Commission ( TSC) has so far transferred a total of 14, 613 teachers out of 14,733 who requested to be transferred as per the circular dated January 9.
TSC chief executive Nancy Macharia has however issued a new directive to all the 14, 613 teachers who were transferred ahead of schools reopening in two weeks.
According to Nancy Macharia, all affected heads of secondary schools will have to report to their respective schools by Monday next week, January 16th.

She as well called other teachers including head teachers and deputy head teachers to report to their respective schools on January 23rd when schools reopen for the first time in the new academic calendar.
" The Commission approves several teachers transfer requests across counties to be effected on January 23. You're required to transfer principals and head teachers with immediate effect to report to schools on Monday, January 16th", Macharia said.
Speaking on 120 teachers whose transfer requests were not granted, Macharia promised to consider them when the case is provided they address the teachers shortage.
The reports intimate that Rift Valley, Western, Nyanza, Coast, and Central were the most affected regions.
Ideally, this is a perfect move by TSC considering some regions have been insecure as well having hostile environment that has always been hampering teachers from delivering their services as expected.
Meanwhile, the teacher's service commission is set to recruit 1,558 teachers in Kakamega with 1,449 set to be posted in junior secondary schools and others to primary schools according to Kakamega county director Margaret Kinyanjui.
