Year in year out,the KCSE students have been performing poorly in the languages especially in English.Most of the schools fail to achieve their targets.The girls have however been outshining the boys in most of the successive years.However,this is different in the KCPE exams where there have been tremendious improvements from the students' performances.
The changes in the new Curriculum call for a lot to be done by the Ministry of education.Luckily,the teachers are receiving constant trainings in the new CBC curriculum.Currrently,TSC is preparing to begin training some 110,000 secondary school teachers in preparation for the junior secondary schools.
There are more other trainings for the teachers that will see them go with the new trends in Education especially in the markings of exams.Teachers are set for numerous workshops in the next few weeks.These workshops have always come in handy for the teachers.Already the schedules for History, Geography,English amongst other subjects' workshop trainings are out for different levels.
In English which is a key subject,the teachers from Uashin Gishu county will cover diverse topics.However,the lucky teachers who will attend the training which will happen tomorrow 21st at Eldoret Girls High School will be taught on the new setbooks that have just been released for students as specified by Teachers Arena in part f below.This is in deed some good news for the teachers of English.
