Many touching stories have emerged, one of the stories is that of Marina Wanjiku who scored an A- in the just concluded exams.
According to the Standard, Marina and her family have been through hell on earth, the young lady narrated a shocking story of how life in the streets has been for her.
The bright student said she and her parents have been living in the streets for a very long time.
"My mum and dad collect garbage to sell for us to get ends meet, she said.
We have been through so much Leaving in the streets, and even at one time we lived in an abandoned toilet for months, she said.
Currently, the family lives in Mathare slums, with her father and mother still in the garbage collection business.
Marina said seeing the kind of life they were living in, pushed her harder to trying to get the best grades possible so she can help her family get out of poverty.
It's all by God's grace and we have survived even after eating street food from the garbage, she said.
