“Learners First" Panic As Schools Closed For 10 Days As Covid-19 Wrecks Havock

NEP Girls Secondary School in Garissa was yesterday, Tuesday closed after five students tested positive for Covid-19. The learners were send home for a ten days as the school principal initiates talks with the County Commissioner and Education officials.

It is also said that the school had earlier lost the matron who is said to have succumbed to virus compilations. Residents poured all the surge in infections on the visitors in the vicinity for the Lamu Port South Sudan Ethiopia Transport (Lapsset) meetings.

Garissa County Chief Officer of Health Hassan Anshur cautioned the residents of violating the Covid-19 Ministry of Health guidelines on containing the spread of the deadly virus. He urged to get tested for the killer virus and receive their vaccine which is available locally.

This comes days after a school in Uasin Gishu, Arnesen’s High School was closed after a Form One student was found dead the previous night though the student's cause of death remains unknown, residents and parents are calling for mass Covid-19 testing.
