The ministry of health has just released today's covid-19 update status. In the release several good news have can be highlighted. They include, low positivity rate, high rate of recoveries and teacher vaccination.
On positivity rate, 576 people tested positive for the virus. This was a positivity rate of 9.9%. the decline in the positivity rate of late posts a good attitude even after the deadly indian mutant was reported in Kisumu. The ministry keeps on informing the public to avoid fear and follow the set regulations to avoid community spreading of the virus. Kisumu is the most affected with the new Indian double mutant.
On recoveries, the government noted that there is an increase in the numbers of recovery from the virus. Many people are recovering of late creating ICU beds for new entrants. This is good news to all education stakeholders who fear that in case of a surge students will be the most affected. We thank God for the recovery rate.
On vaccination; over 149,000 teachers have been vaccinated so far. It's good news as students an parents will be safe if the teachers are safe. They are prone to movement in an out of school and holding meetings. With their vaccination then it's sure that they are making a school environment very safe for everybody to operate from.
The government noted that second vaccination dose will be given as from next week. With full vaccination to teachers an workers is a good deal to make the students safe.
We thank God for keeping school environment safe for our children. Thanks.
