Teachers to be engaged on Saturday and Sunday on 19th and 29th December 2020 for CBC training.

According to the Teachers Service Commission announcement on Competency Based Curriculum ( CBC) training.

It now clear that those teachers selected from various schools to attend such training will have to do away with their Church programs for the purpose of attending such an important training.

It may be accompanied by a lot of untagonism especially from the Protestant churches and the Seventh Day Adventist Church (SDA) who always follow strictly the Sabbath day and have been not ready to engage in other duties as part from the church functions.

Did the Teachers Service Commission and the ministry of education considered the freedom of worship?

They might have planned this due to fixed schedule in this academic calendar and to reduce the movement of teachers especially during this time of Covid-19. It may also reduce traveling costs especially to the delocolized teachers who always traveling long distances to school and back home when schools close.

Therefore, teachers involved should make early preparations to attend the training to avoid inconveniences.

Do you think it is a wise decision made by the Teachers Service Commission and the ministry of education?

What is your take on this?
