It is a sad day to the Machakos University students after they went to school as usual, prepared to have their exams only to meet the opposite of their expectations. Students who had their exams as early as 8 a.m were shocked after they witnessed a number of their lecturers were already out in the university compound. They wondered how much ready their lecturers were, to handle the exam supervision. Little did they know that the lecturers were out for a demonstration.

Machakos University lecturers are now on strike, demanding for salary payments. The angry lecturers have warned that any form of failure to pay out their salaries will lead to the end of learning activities in the institution. To affirm their statement, they stressed that students will not proceed with the exams as had earlier been planned. This therefore, will be a very big blow to the fourth year students who are supposed to go for their attachments.

It's now every student's prayer that they may get paid for learning activities to resume. The students who are behind in their courses as compared to other universities, are now pleading with their Vice Chancellor to process the payment for the lecturers.

Students have now been left in a dilemma and state of unrest as they don't know whether the exams will be given to them or not. Generally, they are psychologically tortured as they wait for further directives from the examination department.
