Nelly Cheboi, 29, is a founder of TechLitAfrica, who was born family in Mogotio, Bomet county stands at the head of a classroom with students at a school in Kenya. TechLitAfrica plans to bring computers to as many Kenyan schools and students as possible. The organization recently shipped 130 workstations with the help of WCE fiscal sponsorship.
Nelly Cheboi who is now 29 years took to her twitter account on November 13th and post a photo of her and children running to hug her with a caption saying "Day 11/33 I started a school because I thought it would be easy. I thought I would make a GoFundMe page, start construction and done! I was so sure I could raise the funds that I told my sister to hire contractors and start working."
She farther narrates the story saying "I was a junior in college making $8.25/hr on a work study program. When I made a GoFundMe fundraiser I only raised $330. I had people on the ground expecting to be paid. I had to find a way! And I did.
Overcoming that became a reference for the things I took own. I gained confidence in my ability to make things happen and courage to make bold moves. All to say, whatever it is, just start because progress is intoxicating."
She continued the story by urging her fan's to vote for her to be amongst the heroes of CNN by saying "We still have 23 more days of voting for CNN hero of the year. You get 10 votes each day. Please vote for us."
