The teacher service commission TSC is responsible for registration of teachers employment and also renumeration of the same teachers. The commission recently announced that It was going to employ 15,000 teachers in the next 3 years.
The Commission has however implemented what it announced earlier by advertising 5,000 vacancies in the teaching profession. Of this 5000. 4,000 are meant for secondary schools and 1000 for primary schools.
The commission also added an extra 927 vacancies to replace the teachers who had exited service. Teachers have been on the move preparing their documents in preparation for the most recruitment that he scheduled mid this month.
However, teachers serving on intern terms had been favored by the marking scheme that was released by the teacher service commissioner. They had been awarded 30 marks which gives them an upper hand over the other competitors.
However, this teachers have received the following news from the teacher service commission which appears like it might disadvantage them and cost even some of them to lose the 30 marks awarded for the interns.
The commission has stated categorically that this group of teachers must provide evidence for intern in order to earn the 30 marks. Some of the teachers serving on intern may not be able produce the evidence required by the teacher service commission in order to be awarded the 30 marks. Most affected at the recently employed intern teachers because they are yet to receive the intern certificates which the commission had promised to give them.
Apart from the certificate, the commission has also started that those teachers must produce three payslips of the year 2020 and 3 of 2021.
They are also supposed to produce a letter from the institution they are serving as interns And another letter from the county director with the details of when they began service in the teachers service commission.
All this requirements might for the challenge to this teachers for not all of them have them. However despite all this limitations, this teachers stand a higher chance of securing the permanent employment by the teacher service commission.
