Revealed: Parents Faced With Burden of School Fees, Fines and Extra Levies as Schools Reopen See Why

The education ministry that is headed by Prof George Magoha issued term calendar dates to help guide all education stakeholders and learners.

The schools were reopened yesterday for the beginning of the third term that will see the first batch of the national examinations both KCPE and KCSE being done between March to April.

It's bad news to the parents as the schools have reopened, the parents have been subjected to the burden of paying school fees, extra levies such as development and teacher motivation and also paying fines in the schools that we had students unrest who later destroyed school property.

Last term, a good number of schools were razed down following the students unrest and parents have been slapped with a burden of fines to clear before their learners are readmitted back.

In conclusion, Maranda National boys high school in Siaya, fined every student Ksh 5,125 to be paid by the parents to help construct a new dormitory that was torched by the students.
