Good News To All Teachers On Salary Rise As TSC And Unions Make This Move Ahead Of 2022/2023.

The teachers employed by teachers service commission have been complaining of poor pay in the light of high inflation rate that has reduced their purchasing power by a great margin.

The signing of a non-monetary CBA in the year 2021 didn't help as they only got extended maternity leave for female teachers while male teachers were given paternity leaves.

The CBA also allowed teachers in arid areas to get promotions while the rest of the tutors were left without any increment for five years.

Nevertheless, the situation is likely to change going forward if reports from TSC and the teachers representatives are anything to go by.

The sunday nation has reported of a planned meeting between the teachers and TSC's high Ranking officials at Naivasha mid this week.

According to Knut secretary general Collins Oyuu, the meeting will start on Tuesday and end on Friday whereby among other things, they will discuss the review of the CBA 2021-2025 that didn't give teachers any pay rise.

Other issues that will be discussed include education report and teachers professional development training.

The meeting comes at a time when TSC and Knut are in good terms which has led to the growth of the union's membership numbers to over 100000.

The meeting also comes at a time when the 2022/2023 financial year is just beckoning when the government's next expenditure cycle begins.
