Good News To Teachers As TSC Announces Plans To Begin Promotion Interviews Of 2419 Tutors Next Week

The Teachers Service Commission gas announced plans to interview teachers in a move to promote 2419 teachers both at primary and secondary school level starting next week.

According to TSC, the interviews are set to be held at regional and county level beginning at November 1 -12. The vacancies advertised mostly are those of chief principals, principals, deputy principals, headteachers, deputy headteachers and senior teachers.

The interviews would also lead to the promotion of 1,376 teachers as heads and deputy heads in arid and semi-arid lands (Asal) and hard-to-staff regions.

A number of teachers are also moved from primary schools to secondary schools in a move to handle junior secondary students ahead of the Competency Based Curriculum (CBC) rollout in 2023.

The TSC has also plans to extend the contract of 4005 interns whose terms were set to expire in December. Also 1995 interns are set to be hired making the total number to 6000. An intern attached to a secondary school earns sh 15,000 while one attached to a secondary school earns sh 20,000.
