Relief For Teachers as TSC is Reprimanded by National Assembly Over Delocalization

The Teachers Service Commission is in charge of all affairs to do with teachers across the country and this includes firing as well as hiring of the teachers all over the country.

The Teacher's Service Commission that is headed by Dr. Nancy Macharia who is the Chief Executive Officer, has ensured that teachers get the best out of their careers as per the reports that we have with us this afternoon.

The TSC had given fresh instructions on the delocalization of teachers across the country but the National Assembly has this afternoon ruled the move as illegal.

The National Assembly through the Speaker Moses Wetangula, posted on the official website that the move cannot be effected since that authority lies with Parliament.

The statement from the Speaker intimated that the Teachers Service Commission was usurping the powers of the National Assembly in the guidelines on the delocalization of teachers across the country.

“Any instrument that is said to be made pursuant to a power that is granted by an Act of Parliament must therefore be brought before Parliament for further scrutiny." Speaker Moses Wetang’ula has said as the House plans to publish more of the non-compliant regulations.

This will come as good news to teachers especially those that are going back to school this week to begin work on where they had been sent to.

The move therefore cannot be effected by the Teachers Service Commission as per the reports that we have with us.
