As the 2022 polls are about to start, the political campaigns have been the talk of the day among political aficionados. It started at the Mount Kenya region whereby is believed to be the hotbed of Kenyan politics.
However, today Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga was in parts of Nairobi, specifically Kamkunji and Burma where he was wooing his supporters to register as voters, Raila Odinga in 2022 will be going head to head with his student in politics.
However, Raila's promise to give jobless Kenyan youth continues to elicit mixed reactions. Support or criticism of the proposal is mainly drawn according to political lines. Raila's supporters have welcomed the move while his rivals state it is not sustainable.
Meanwhile, the PM. Raila Odinga in Burma Market has promised Kenyans that he will cancel University Student's debt. In 2017, HELB had 85,000 defaulters owing Sh9.6 billion if he wins the presidency in 2022.
" I promise to cancel the university students debt of higher education loans Bird(HELB) if I wins the 2022 general election,"he stated.
However, on higher taxes, former Prime Minister Raila Odinga assured those with little income that he will address their issue by bringing down commodity prices. Odinga also said that he is aware of the depression caused by the Covid-19 pandemic and that he is prepared to address such issues.
