Teacher Professional Development (TPD) is a programme that was launched by Teachers Service Commission (TSC) and aimed at continuously developing and improving teachers skills,knowledge and competencies in accordance to the new Curriculum Based Curriculum (CBC)
All the 340,000 teachers in the country under the government payroll will now have to prepare themselves to undertake refresher courses that will guide their promotions and developments.
All teachers under the payroll will be required to complete a minimum of five modules during their teaching careers and this will be used as guide in the building of their profession. This programme will mark the transition of teachers from the old schemes to the new scheme of services.
The modules that teachers shall undertake are as follows;professionalism, pedagogy, Competence Based Curriculum (CBC) and assessment, inclusive education practices, Comprehensive School Health and Safety, Instructional Leadership and Financial Literacy Skills.
