A burial ceremony was momentarily stopped after the husband to a teacher that lost her life to Covid-19 collapsed. James Kimotho could not control his emotions during the send off of his wife. Mourners had to stop the funeral and rush him to the hospital. The incident happened at one village in Embu County.
The mourners called a vehicle that quickly took him to Kianjokoma Sub-county hospital for emergency care. Kimotho had been married to the wife for ten years. The 61-year-old teacher of Kiswahili and CRE was a dedicated teacher at Kavutiri Primary School where she had worked for twelve years.
Kimotho was attended to and later got released to join other mourners in his wife's send off. He said the loss of his wife was a big blow to him and his family as a whole.
Earlier reports revealed that the deceased's school was being fumigated by health officials in preparation for the forthcoming KCPE examinations. Her students were largely affected having lost such a humble, diligent and kind teacher.
