It is remaining exactly 3 weeks and 2 days to school reopening that is scheduled for May 10 according to the ministry of education. The reopening of schools depends on the situation of Covid 19 in the country which appears to be so encouraging.
Universities and colleges had been closed indefinitely on March 25 following president Uhuru Kenyatta's directive that was aimed at stopping the spread of this noble disease among the students.
Primary schools and secondary schools on the other hand are in second term holidays and are expected on 10 May in schools for the third term activities.
The country for the past one week have been recording declining cases of Covid 19 infections in the country.
Today's figures from the ministry of health have made educationist hopeful for the school reopening as it indicates a declining trend.
From a sample size of 7184,only 1027 tested positive for Covid 19 making the positivity rate to be 14.3%. This is good for the country.
If the country continue to record this kind of declining trend in Covid 19 infections, then schools shall be reopened as was planned.
