Teachers Service Commission has broken silence over the recently advertised primary school slots. In a statement released by TSC through their verified Facebook Account, in the January 2022 advertisement on natural attrition, primary school teachers will be selected from the merit list compiled during the recruitment of additional teachers that was carried out on July 2021.
In a recent advertisement, the employer declared vacancy about 3000 slots. A thing that sparked reactions from all hundreds of thousands of unemployed Kenyan teachers. Therefore according to the critics this was likened to the drop in the sea since hundreds of thousands of unemployed youths are chewing poverty outside there.
Therefore the TSC went a head and declared those vacancies to replace teachers that exited the service through natural attrition. That means 2,053 slots were set aside for primary school teachers while 892 posts for secondary schools.
Therefore the teachers recruited will serve on permanent and pensionable terms of service. To qualify for recruitment a candidate should meet the following basic requirements.
Must be a Kenyan citizen. At the same time should a holder of of P1 certificate in case of primary school and a minimum of a diploma in education in case of secondary schools. Finally the person should be registered with the commission.
