Teachers have a reason to smile Teachers Service Commission conveys this message. The Teachers Service Commission is committed to ensure that all teachers in this country are fully enjoying while offering services to the school learners in various schools in different parts of this country. Recently the Teachers Service Commission offered teachers promotions, therefore teachers who had been stagnating in one job group for quite a long period were promoted.
However Kenya National Union Of Teachers have been previously differing with Teachers Service Commission over the way they offered teachers promotions and the New 2021-2025 Collective Bargaining Agreement proposals which will seen running as from July 2021. The Kenya National Union Of Teachers has been claiming that TSC had planned to forward New 2021-2025 Collective Bargaining Agreement proposals without including the teachers unions.
Fortunately, the Teachers Service Commission has issued a letter to KNUT indicating that they want to have a joint talks over the 2021-2025 New Collective Bargaining Agreement before it is forwarded to Salaries Remuneration Commission. Early the Teachers Service Commission issued a proposal of 16% to 32% basic teachers salary increment, Whereas Kenya National Union Of Teachers proposed 120%-200% basic salary increment.
This sounds as good news to teachers and they have a reason to smile, especially classroom teachers because if the teachers unions and Teachers Service Commission agree, then they will receive huge amount of salary increment.
