Mang'u High School is the only secondary school in Kenya that owns a Beechcraft Qeen Air 5Y-MHS twin engined light aircraft. It's the first secondary school in the country to introduce Aviation Technology as an examination subject. This was started in 1961 by Michael Stimac who introduced the Electronics Club and Air Program in the school. The program majorly focus on technical skills such as propulsion, thermodynamics and meteorology.

The following are the factors that have aid in the growth of Mang'u Aviation school of technology:

1. The Aviation students are allowed to perform their studies at Wilson airport and Moi Air Force Base in Embakasi.

2. The Kenya Air Force assists them with repairs of the aircraft and training.

3. The school received a lot of materials, tools and teaching aids from various airlines.

4. When the original Schweitzer Aircraft glider N3909A used by the Marianist Brothers for Aviation training crashed, it was moved to the workshop as a memorial. Mang'u highschool students uses this for educational purpose.
